The First Feel Good Business Saga
Laugh once again with Angeline as she makes her way through this strange world of Massive Skyscrapers and Large Multinational Corporations. Underneath their cold and austere exteriors, what’s really going on is something really quite comical.
Angeline works in the dull world of international business. Floating around in a sea of nonsense where colleagues prefer to speak to each other by email written in gibberish, ignoring one another to the point of becoming cynical. One day, thanks to a colorful coat that made her stand out among the Massive Skyscrapers, Angeline decided to take a different approach to her work life.
Why not just enjoy the situation?
What is the relationship between the thickness of an office carpet and someone’s level of influence?
How can she reconcile her life as a woman and a mother with a professional life that runs 24/7 to the rhythm of the global business?
You'll no longer look at your mailbox or colleagues in the same way after reading this book, amusingly illustrated by Renard.
In a world where digital hyper-connection reigns supreme, what would happen if someone were to destroy our computer networks?
On June 27th 2017, a global cyberattack strikes multinational corporations across the globe. Angeline, a long time paid-up member of the rat race suddenly finds herself thrown into the heart of catastrophic computerized chaos. Within a split second, the hyperactivity of the digital networks becomes the black silence of the big void. No information, no news. And worst of all, no way to communicate. After the initial shock, the question of how to restart the machine becomes the priority. Is Angeline's giant global company merely a colossus with feet of clay? How is one to continue working when all their tools have been destroyed?
Let yourself be carried away by this true and deeply human story that plunges you into the throes of the great disconnection.
Prefaced by General Marc Watin-Augouard, Founder and co-director of the International Cybersecurity Forum and Director of the Ecole des Officiers de la Gendarmerie Nationale Research Center.

READERS VIEWS
Angelina's reader since the first hour I followed her with pleasure in her travels as a working girl who does not have her tongue in the pocket of her colorful coat. Despite traffic incidents, endless meetings and recalcitrant photocopiers, Angeline always has a TGV in advance to make us laugh ... and reflect on the world of work.
I laughed a lot at Angeline's adventures in this strange and peculiar country of Defense, with its large towers and multinationals. Under its austere and cold exteriors, what happens there is ultimately very funny when you put on the author's glasses. Special mention to the illustrations!
I really like the humor of an amused observer, not that offbeat, whose gaze on a daily world opens the door to parallel dimensions of the professional world and which allow you to survive in a world which can become hostile if you are not 'pay no heed ... Angeline sets the tone and the tips for changing the angle of view, to have a vision of our world that puts things in their right place. Wearing that amused look gives the key to derision in all circumstances; one that allows you to see the funny and take a step back in all circumstances. The one that makes situations funny and so much easier to live with…
Suspense, reflection and humor: a success! I haven't given up on Cyberattack! From the first pages we are caught in this whirlwind. It is perfectly described, one lives hour by hour the hellish days until this terrifying blackout which cuts everything and lets appear so many forgotten things.
Angeline's pen immerses, seduces, makes people laugh, but also dreams and questions. Bravo also to the illustrations by Renard, in total symbiosis with the subject and really very funny.
We come out ruffled and with nagging questions about the world we have created ...
Cyber-realism! A great moment to read in one go or by chapter. Lets take a step back and see us ourselves in our connected bubble.
Written with a lot of humor, borrowing from Histoire (s), we immerse ourselves in this cyber attack of a big company that could be ours. You see yourself as a character in the story. We learn from it how we operate and how we relate to our colleagues. What happiness.
To read without moderation: I read in one go ... because I wanted to know what was going to happen .... I loved it. It also allowed me to take a step back and ask myself questions about how the business works.
I recommend it to read absolutely
Reconnect to our fundamentals of life: this is one of the conclusions of this story with a clear and rhythmic style, which is read in one go with passion, without forgetting Renard's pencil stroke with realistic graphics. Beyond the technological failures that Angeline makes us experience, it is a reflection on our way of life which is sometimes too connected, with the risk of dependence modifying the nature of our relationship with the other. Without falling into nostalgia for the past, the author makes us live through the ways of a way of life at hellish pace and invites us to keep real values. Humor, realism and ethics are brilliantly combined
UK reader : Thought Provoking - I LOVED "Cyberattack" - it just sucks you into the reality of what we all do all day, every day and never question - but what I really liked was the human message that cuts through at the end.
Italian reader : A fascinating reading - really enjoyed the book. The pace, the ironic touch, the deepness and scope of the details and memories (including author’s mood and sensations) made the reading absolutely fascinating!
US reader : Angeline’s Cyberattack! provides succinct and startling facts about the havoc that is created during a global cyberattack. She balances this with a healthy dose of humor as she recounts her days in the office wading through her own firm's cyberattack. Spoiler alert: good ole’ fashioned hard copies and WhatsApp came in handy!
Although global attacks will continue to impact our work life and style, Angeline wisely points out:
“In the end, we all managed to adapt. It’s during these moments that you can see that the human being isn’t quite as resistant to change as we might sometimes think…. We found ways to work with what we had and we got on with the job. We did whatever it took to make sure that constant struggle wasn’t the new normal.”
Canadian reader : It’s about human beings : When I first read the title Cyberattack, I thought it is about data security and how to avoid being attacked. To my surprise, it is about human beings and how the cyber age has "attacked" human relationships. It shows us how vulnerable and lonely we are when disconnected in the emotion-free cyber world. It illustrates how technology has dramatically changed our life styles.... from the good old days when we used paper and pens to communicate and record info., to a cyber era totally dependent on something intangible and invisible. I really enjoyed the simple, concise descriptions and the great sense of humor. The moral of the story is intelligently illustrated by the author's real experience. I figure she must have done a huge amount of research to gather facts and data. Some of the scenarios remind me of my days with a computer guru in the 70s-80s. We could do nothing except wandering around the office when the internal system broke down. The interesting layout and graphics are added bonus!
